Adding apps to list

Frank H

Newbie
I am running a Nexus 5 Marshmellow.
When I view a photo in my gallery, I would like to include an app on the list of apps when asked to select an app from a list to edit a photo.

When I select Edit, a list of current editor apps that can be used to edit the photo are shown. One needs to be selected. (Could not work out how to attach a screenshot).

However, I have installed a Phot Editor that is better than the ones on the list. How can I include the newly installed Phot Editor on that list?

Try an app manager that saves apps in .APK format. Then go to your file manager, search for that particular APK then copy and paste it to the location you desire.

I think you meant backup files in .apk format.
The next step I don't understand.
I worked out how to upload a file. Here is the screenshot:

There are 3 apps available to choose from. I am sure there are other apps that can edit a photo including the app I just installed. What I am trying to do is add that app to the list shown. I have no idea how the list is generated. Therefore I wouldn't know where to copy the app.

Surely there is a simple way to add to that list.
