Changing the initial email address

I don't use my old Gmail address anymore.
My smartphone still is connected to that email address (the first address I had to enter when setting up the smartphone), so I want to change that mail address.

How do I change that?

Hi, try this, go to "Settings" scroll down to "Accounts", select "Email" then "Manage accounts", touch the three dots at the top right and then "Select", put a tick in the box next to the email address you want to get rid of and then touch the dustbin icon. Phil
