Games not working

apwbd1996

Lurker
I was bored (and often am) the other day so I decided to install some games on my tablet that was only £50. So, I hopped onto the play store and downloaded a few. Every time I opened any of them (that is to say 50 or so I tried) they all came up with "Unfortunately [app name here] has crashed.
I tried a factory reset and force-stopping the apps but that didn't work!
What's the solution?

Android 4.2, 1 GB ram, 8 GB total space, Intel Atom Processor? Even 4 years ago when it was released this was a low end tablet. Now it's somewhere between a calculator and a coaster. I'm surprised any current games installed at all on it. I wouldn't expect them to run with such limited specs.

Did you install them from the play store?

Yes, from the play store, better specs though

Okay, so what are the spec's of the tablet you have, and are you sure it's an Iconia One 7?

Yikes! They got Marshmallow (Android 6.0) to run on this? With only 1 GB ram there's barely room for the OS let alone any apps. No wonder games crap out on you. :(

So, list a few of the lowest end games that you have tried and I'll take a look at their minimums and see why a.) you are allowed to install them at all, and b.) why they force stop.

BTW, do you have an "optimizers" or security apps installed?

I tried:
  • Megapolis
  • Bloons TD Battles
  • Flight Pilot Simulator 3D Free
  • SimCity BuildIt
  • PUBG Moblie (although, this was a while ago and this had a different problem instead)
  • Coach Bus Driving Simulator 2018
I could install all of these games (as well as the rest of them) but as soon as I opened them, the 'Unfortunately, [app name here] has crashed' message.

(I haven't got any security apps)

I'm going to have to say it's your 1 GB ram that's the limiting factor here. I was able to install a couple of those games on an older Samsung Note 10.1 running Android 5.1, but it's got 3 GB of ram. The games worked without a problem.

Also sometimes comes up with the attached

Then I'd have to guess that if you can get the same games to run on a similarly spec'ed device, and you get a hardware error like that, it points to imminent hardware component failure.
