LG G6 Update to Oreo

Hi I am very disappointed with LG when it comes to the speed to roll-out a new Android OS. I understand the need for testing and verification etc.. but it doesn't make sense that Oreo has been out since a long time now and still i didn't get the update. I saw that LG will start pushing the Oreo update to the G6 devices since first of May but still nothing so far. Seriously, if LG doesn't enhance this, i am considering moving to another OEM after being loyal to LG for 4 years now.
anyone from middle east got the G6 Oreo update yet?
 
To be fair they are not alone. Samsung only recently started rolling it out to the s8, and they are the market leader. For that matter the G7 and S9 are both on 8.0, despite 8.1 being at least 6 months old.

I'm afraid that there are many reasons to buy devices from these manufacturers, but speed of OS updates is not one of them.
 
@Hadron I agree but at least Oreo is being rolled out on S8 already. All my friends who own S8 have already Oreo on their mobile and samsung isn't known for the speed of OS upgrade rollout to be honest. The new LG software center confirmed it will start beginning of May. We are past mid may now and nada. And what more annoying is that the support is clueless and their reply is just to follow them on social media for updates about the topic :)
 
My wife and son both have LG G6 phones on Sprint. My son's phone got Oreo updated yesterday. My wife's phone not yet.
 
No Oreo for T-Mobile LG G6 phone. I did get the April Security patch, nothing but problems. I hate the G6. Getting rid of it soon as I can and no I will not get the G7.
I like the Honor View10 and the oneplus 6 and the Moto G6
 
To be honest, I haven't had much time to mess with it. I had to cut my grass this afternoon and then walk the dogs, pick up the wife's dry cleaning .... and get some "work" work done in there too.

What I have noticed is screen transitions are smoother and my favorite watch face won't work now. I think bluetooth pairing got messed up in the update. I'll give it a few days and then reset if necessary. All the normal stuff like calls, email, text all see to be fine.

Anything specific you want me to look at?
