New Pixel 2 XL won't connect to PC

Hello everyone. Hoping to get some advise as my Pixel 2 XL won't connect to my PC or laptop.

USB Debugging - On
USB Configuration - I've tried MTP and PTP

I've tried the USB-C cable that came with the phone and I've tried other aftermarket cables.

I've tried hooking it up to the USB-C on the PC and tried using my USB hub.

I've also tried the same using my Laptop. Neither computer will do more than charge.

When the phone is hooked up, under Connected Devices, USB option at the bottom always says 'Not Connected' and is always grayed out.

So far, the only way to transfer files between my desktop and Pixel is to use Bluetooth.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Install a file manager that can transfer by wifi....
Solid explorer, astro explorer, and others in the play store can do this wirelessly

MTP should be all that you need. USB debugging doesn't matter either way.

My regular Pixel 2 works fine with my Macbook. I've never tried it with Windows, but my first suspicion with Windows is always "drivers".

Thanks for the info gentlemen. I'll try it out.

Another option is to use ADB to pull/push files (as long as you are comfortable with the command line). But MTP is a Windows protocol, so it really ought to work.
