Menu key on Galaxy S8

This is a problem that has been bugging me for over a year now. I can't seem to find a way to press the menu key at all on this phone. How do you access the menu key? The lack of menu key seems ridiculous given there is an entire button that does absolutely nothing besides open Bixby.

There is no menu key, there isn't any on any Android device.

Settings/menu are app specific and usually found via a slide out menu or using a button which looks like 3 dots or lines in one of the upper corners of the screen.

If you're looking for the device settings, pull down the notification pane and you'll see a gear icon in the top right hand corner of the screen.

There are Android devices that have a menu key. I've owned them. And I have an app that I can't access functionality in since there isn't a menu button available. It seems ridiculous that they would remove a crucial button.

It's not crucial because the menu key is onscreen now on the upper left or right of the app. The last time Android actually had a menu key was 4 years ago. If your app requires a menu key that means it hasn't been updated in the last 4or 5 years and is a security risk. Bixby isn't even an Android button. Samsung just added it. The S5, S6, S7 all did not have menu buttons either. The recent apps button is what took that place there on the left side of home button.

They removed it several years ago. I have a 2013 device that still has it, but the OS change had already happened before then. Samsung held on to it long after most had dropped it, but with the move to on-screen buttons they have dropped it to.

So my guess is that this app hasn't been updated for many years. In which case it's unlikely that contacting the developer will help, though you could try. Otherwise there are apps in the play store that claim to give you a soft menu button, some without root, but whether they work on your device I don't know. I did check one Bixby button remapping app but that one had "menu button" as an option that requires root.
