Android Oreo update

Hello. I've bought a S8+ this year in february from Vodafone Germany and I'm from Romania. The problem is that we are now in July and i still haven't received my android update, all my friends with s8/s8+ received it, my sister received it too and she has got an A5 2017.. I can't understand why I didn't received the update

Are you in Romania at the moment? I've seen update issues in the past when a handset is bought in one country and used in another.

Are you able to try a Vodafone Germany SIM in it?

Unless you can update via Samsung's PC software (smart switch), you'll need a Vodafone Germany SIM.

The networks send out their updates based on your IMEI and as your IMEI is registered to Vodafone Germany, not Vodafone Romania, the network can't validate you to send an update to your device.

Ah, okay then. I'll wait to receivei a Vodafone SIM from Germany and hole this will solve the problem

Some guys from Romania told me that they didn't had that problem with phones bought from another country. I tried with a VPN from Germany and it didn't work, i was told that the fact with the IMEI isn't true.
I don't have a clue about solving this problem..

You said "all your friends with S8/S8+ received it".

Did they also buy a German Vodafone S8 and use it in Romania?

Do they have Vodafone German sims or Vodafone Romania sims?

It's nothing to do with a VPN. Updates are rolled out via IMEI, when you hit the check for updates button, your current network doesn't think an update should be sent to your handset as it doesn't recognise the IMEI.

If your friends know what they're talking about, what are their suggestions?
