Outlook asking for Facebook login?

The_Chief

Accept no imitations!
Okay, Android peeps, I opened Outlook to check my email. Suddenly this pop-up appears, prompting me to re-enter my login credentials with (Facebook).

There are no links to these two accounts - they are completely separate. The only thing they have in common is that I use my Hotmail email address as the login for Facebook. I checked Accounts in Settings and they are separate.

So why is Microsoft Outlook insisting that I log into Facebook?

Okay, so I hit OK and got to the 'Login with Facebook' page. HA! So now Facebook wants all my emails, too??? I tapped EDIT and CLEAR. That ain't happenin'.

So far, Outlook is behaving again.

This happened to me TODAY for the first time as well! But when I click on 'ok' and I'm prompted to enter fb credentials I don't see snywhere to "tap EDIT" or "CLEAR"?

Here's what I see...just regular login page. Nowhere to "tap" EDIT .

What's up with that email that request is hovering over? Looks phisy to me.

It's not phishy. It's an email from Kickbooster, which is a program that pays a SMALL percentage for every campaign I promote. Which isn't many, because I won't promote something I won't back myself. Doesn't matter what the email is, that stupid popup came up on everything.

But I don't TRUST Outlook anymore. I switched to the stock Email application on my Note8 and it's working just fine. The only thing I would like to have is a dark theme... but Outlook didn't have it, either.

Hmm:thinking: I use Outlook online and have Outlook app on my devices, but I'm also an Anti- Facebook user, so I'm sure I would probably never encounter anything like that but it looks to me as what @mikedt had mentioned it appears to be a phishing scam or a malware web crawler.
