Battery draining

I don't have this phone so can't compare, but it would be useful if you gave examples of what "so fast" means, i.e. how fast and under what conditions?

I bought this phone 2 days ago and like i was customizing some stuff in settings and other.. And like after 1 hour of using battery gone from 97% to 73%..

Do you have Root, can you view or understand your wakelocks, what apps are you running in the background, can you view and clear your recents? Ect.. Any and all of those can play a large role in your concern of battery drain

So you used 1/4 of the battery in approximately one hour of the phone being active and the touchscreen in use while you fiddle with things. Well that's a bit higher than I'd have expected generally, but what is your screen brightness set to? The screen is always a big power drain, so if you were doing that with the brightness whacked up high that may not be crazy, especially if you were also using the internet at the time.

It takes new phones a couple of cycles to optimise for your usage, so you usually expect it to be below par for a couple of days. Try using it normally for a few days and see whether there is a real problem.

Let's see what the actual G6 owners (current or future) say.

I would always run for a few cycles and look at the typical experience rather than judge on a single example of usage - there can be a lot of variation day to day, and a single session can be anomalously good or bad for reasons that aren't always obvious.

another thing I've noticed for battery drains are bad signal, apps that haven't been opened + setup (like VVM/Voicemail & Google, for example) as they like to enact wakelocks to give notifications or get your attention even tho it's a bit underhanded.. also clear your recents now and then, especially when trying to gauge the battery performance

By far the LG g6 is worst phone I have owned. First it's the moisture detected in USB port warning, had it for several weeks, phone wasn't wet hadn't come near water.
Did a factory reset the week before didn't help.
Another problem I have is the battery.
After less than three hours of usage I am down to 55%. It says I have 7hrs left. My experience has been once it drops below 50% the best I can hope for is maybe 5 hrs.
The battery life sucks on the LG g6

Thats because of the Apps capacity. Some apps take half of your ram and start using the battery life silently in BG. You can optimize and force shutdown the BG apps.

Hi guys,
I'm using the phone since oct 17' and only it has been months that I've been enjoying this phone. I don't really know if it's with the update or not, but hell... the phone's over heating and sometimes I'm scared that the phone doesn't burst off... slow forever... my friends bully me comparing with their low end phones which are way faster... screen on time is just negligible... I always keep my phone connected with the powerbank....

I thought of rooting the phone, thinking that could provide a solution but no camera app can take a proper advantage of the wideangle camera of rear and the option in the front... and the stable versions that are available for Lg G6 are pretty out dated.

I tried the following:
  • removing the cache
  • merging contacts
  • rebooting into safe mode and into normal
  • reinstalling whatsapp
  • reducing the animations through developer settings
  • removing unnecessary apps
Things I can't ignore:
  • connecting bluetooth devices round the clock
  • having mobile data or wifi on
I'm happy that things that are suggested by the users has helped a few... Me, being unfortunate, the phone's still screwing me... I wish someone could suggest a better and permanent solution...
