SMS and MMS text messaging is by nature a very low bandwidth form of communication, it's OK for low-resolutions images but anything that involves larger file sized media files will be automatically scaled down to transfer. You're much better off just uploading your photos and videos to whichever online storage service you use (Google Drive, SpiderOak, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.), get the sharable link for those files, and then just text that link to your recipients so they can download the same, full-sized media files on their end. They'll need to do the same when sending large file sized attachments to you. (... and if they complain about the extra steps involved that they don't need to do with other iMessage users is when it involves iMessage-to-iMessage the same file size restrictions to MMS messages don't apply to iMessages.)
Nothing you can do about that. iPhones lock iMessage to iPhones only. Androids can't access those servers to upload full size pictures to that so that iOS can receive them.I am going to HATE switching to an iPhone but it sounds like I'm stuck as asking all of my family members, et al., i.e. children, grandchildren, siblings and friends to go through those extra steps just for my Android fetish will be a non starter. I am really ticked off about this!

According to that link, this is an Android only service:you're using Samsung latest smart phone, have you ever tried link sharing?
This website from Samsung can help you how to do it (sending big files* from Samsung to other smart phone i.e. Iphone)
https://www.samsung.com/au/support/mobile-devices/what-is-link-sharing/
According to that link, this is an Android only service:
"Link Sharing is only compatible for Android OS 6.0 (Marshmallow) and newer."
so while it is something to be noted for the rest of us here, not so much for the OP.
