Chinese Smart watches...

I really can't see the point of smartwatches, there's no killer app that I can see.
For me, it's:
  • viewing and responding to notifications on my wrist without having to dig out my phone
  • tracking fitness data during workouts
  • controlling/monitoring music playback
  • asking Assistant to Do Things and Answer Questions without having to reach for another device
But that first one is the big one. I love not having to fumble for my phone whenever it buzzes. I just glance at my wrist and can instantly know if it was a group hangout full of memes or a message from my boss without having to interrupt whatever I'm in the middle of.

The killer app for me came out with the original Huawai Watch, notifications and customizable watch faces. 99% of the time I get a notification I can just leave my phone in my pocket.

I'm not stereo typing but if it's Oriental they may be very smart watches in more ways than we can imagine, and not to mention the product may be better than their competitors at a cheaper price. Now how smart is that when it comes to economical value in today's economy

All i wanted from my watch was to know what time it is and a pedometer
I tried the Dick Tracy stuff and I wasn't impressed. The thing only cost me an hours work and it's still working. Some opinions were it would die in less than 3 months.

I didn't want a smart watch. They seemed pointless and "gimicky". Then I bought the less-than-stellar Moto 360 Sport when they went on sale at Target for $59.

Now I don't know how I'm going to justify its inevitable replacement with the wife. I don't want to go without it, but explaining "This doodad on a necklace for your wrist lets you use your phone, without touching your phone, by touching this instead" doesn't cut it. It's hard to explain...
