Droid Turbo - Dead

So it's totally dead? I suspect a component(s) may have burned-out if the battery was reversed. Professional repair service required most likely, if that's worth it or not for a Droid Turbo, I don't know.

It will not power up at all. I watched several videos prior to swapping the battery and none made mention of the correct battery connection so I didn't either. The connector on the battery has the contacts showing on both sides. I should have folded the ribbon cable over and then plugged it in rather than plugging it in flat and unfolded. When I turned it on the lightening bolt charge symbol was flashing...I thought it had a dead battery so I left it charging over night. Next morning...DEAD as a door nail. Battery still has 3.5v and I received another battery fresh out of the box, about the same voltage, still nothing when plugged it in the phone. The connector has four terminals. Keeping the common probe on the 1st and then moving to the right with the negative probe I was measuring voltage on the 2nd and 4th terminal and nothing on the 3rd, so flipping it would apply voltage to the 3rd terminal and none on the 2nd.

Would you have a wild guess at a repair? I have a new phone but was going to use the Droid for WiFi use at home.
 
I don't know anything about Droid Turbo, never seen one as I'm not in the US and this was a Verizon exclusive phone AFAiK. But I would guess that there could be some sort of protection against reversed voltage, and possibly a fusible safety component(maybe a resistor) has blown in the power supply section. Which would be a soldered surface mounted component of course.
 
I've never seen a battery in a cellphone made that the battery could be compromised due to a design flaw. It must be something else.

I'll take it apart again and take a closer look under magnification.. Thanks for the idea.
 
KBU2 - It's the only thing I know I did wrong. I can't believe the connector allowed me to attach it. It didn't snap in to place but it stayed in place somewhat until I reapplied the tape and the battery alignment piece. Just strange it had the fold terminals. Showing on both sides. Dumb mistake and I should have taken a better look at it but most connections only go together one way.
