Calendar App

With the latest update Google has taken control of the Samsung Calendar App. I was on the phone with Verizon and Samsung. Samsung took control of my phone and tried to fix the problem, as well as on two of their phones internally, all with the same failed outcome. The issue is that I can no longer have the Samsung Calendar App default to "My Calendars". It now defaults to my Gmail account. And there is nothing that Samsung can do about it. I asked if they could change their App. They basically said, "not for one person!" So there you have it. Google is driving everyone else out of their space and Samsung is letting them do it!

Sorry, I just don't have this issue. My phone is updated to September of this year and i've been using the Samsung Calender on my S8+ since day one and have 3 separate sets of accounts running on the app:

My Phone - including "My Calender",
Google,
Samsung.

Nothing has changed from update to update for me. Although I have to say I don't have anything stored within the My Phone account as I have many calenders syncing through my Google accounts instead.

Sounds like you may have lost your local calenders somehow. Can you see any of the calender like in my attached image ?

This is weird. I just posted a test event on the calendar app … and it showed "My Calendars" as the storage location. I saved it and it still showed "My Calendars" as the storage location. (I have all other calendars turned off.) There was a Google update a day or so ago. I wonder if that did it? This is the first time I tried to store an event on my phone since the bad experience. I usually create events in Outlook and then sync the two calendars through Smart Switch.

As I said before, this not only happened on my phone, the Samsung person tried several S8's they had for testing and it did the same thing to theirs. He said there was nothing they could do short of a fix of their app code.

Thanks for telling me yours worked; otherwise, I might not have used it for posting for quite a while.

I now consider the case closed!

It sounds to me like something glitched and when you created a new event it dislodged that glitch.

Glad you have it sorted now though. ;)
