Wifi very slow on android

Hey so i got a LG G6 a month ago or so. I connected it to my actiontec extender and noticed i was barely getting 2 bars even though the extender is IN MY ROOM! I litearlly went right next to the extender and got 2 bars. On my Iphone se i got full bars blazing fast wifi. I return the G6 and get the v30. same exact issue. its very frustrating. any help? the wifi is very slow btw. it loads youtube in 480p and instagram photos take forever to load

I know nothing about an "actiontec extender", but things that occur to me: check that you've actually connected to that and not the main router, check what frequency bands you are using (if there's a choice of 2.4 GHz and 5GHz which is the phone set to use?). I've never had a problem with WiFi speeds on any device, so it's not intrinsically an issue with Android, so my guess is that there's something in the settings that isn't right.

i know im connected to the extender it has a diff ssid. also ive tried both 2.4ghz and 5ghz.

Go to a local Starbucks and try their Wi-Fi, they usually have the most powerful Wi-Fi router than money can buy.

Are you using Bluetooth headsets? Apparently on certain models like the Huawei M3, they somehow interfere with the WiFi. Not sure how, I haven't experienced it on my Samsungs, but the Huawei side of the internet is full of complaints regarding that.

How hard is it to not be a jackass and just help?

I am not too familiar with the device, although have you tried to pull out the sims card and just pop it back in?

Sorry to sound like a fool though, i am trying to help, we are all trying to help you out, if you keep shutting out people. Then I am afraid you have over stayed your welcome.

i actually need help so if you could help that would be nice

You have to test your phone with other Wi-Fi networks to see whether it's your Wi-Fi router's fault.

Alternatively you can test your Wi-Fi using other phones too.

They're right you know. We know that your phone is having a problem with the extender. But we don't know if the issue is with the phone, or with the extender, which one is not compatible with another. You have to go check it with another WiFi connection, such as previously mentioned (Starbucks, McDonald's, etc), since they use commercial standard routers that have nearly every available option available, not just the limited home routers. If your device works fine in those places, then the issue is not on your phone. If your phone still has problems there, then it's an issue with the phone itself.

I recently upgraded to Lollipop on my Note 4, and I've been having a weird problem ever since. At home, things load much more slowly than they do when I'm on 4g or using my school's Wifi. My other devices have no problem with this and my speeds are steady (22mbps about). What could be causing this? How could I fix it? Thank you!

Possibly factory reset or install a fresh factory Firmware via ODIN (Samsung only)
