Turn on

Is this a normal turning on? I press the on button for about 3 seconds and the large M appears with the powered on by statement. It then goes through the flashing M pictures and then asked me for my passcode. After entering the passcode it repeats the previous steps.

Another question. After the phone is on I press the on button and the screen goes blank/black. I am assuming, and we all know what assume means, that it is sleeping but still active if a call or text msg comes in. When I press the on button I enter the passcode again. It this the norm?

As you may have guessed it is new and I am just working on a thorough understanding. All comments/assistance is appreciated.

You shouldn't have to press the button for 3 seconds, just press it for a normal screen on scenario, unless the phone was completely off.
If it was on, then your display is off due to the screen display time out set for a few seconds. It's also on screen lock, which is asking for a pin each time you wake the phone.
Go into security settings and change that option

When it repeats the previous steps I assume it just happens once, as opposed to endlessly? I've never seen this, but I've never used this particular phone.

You are correct about what using the power button to turn the screen off means.

Asking for the password again after waking the screen is normal. You should be able to set a delay so it only asks if the screen has been off for a while.

Yes it only happens once. Thanks for the information. Merry Christmas
