HELP! WHAT US BEITA-PLUG IN???

Sorry if it's been mentioned. Lot to read through and I didn't notice it. Anyone tried long pressing the notification in the drop down bar and pressing app info? It'll tell you which app sent the popup. Unless it's on a browser and then that's more to do with the sites you're visiting.

Having read through a number of these posts it appears to me that this thing attaches to any number of existing applications possibly during an update or as part of the original install. I'm monitoring my own phone but it seems to have attached to a SmartScan app that was actually installed some months ago when I needed to scan something. I don't believe it is attached to a single app but is rather opportunistic and it uses apps that use plugins. Just my thoughts on the subject.

I believe that Smart Scan(Scanner Group from China) is a BeiTa culprit. It could be when you installed it, it was benign, but then it was updated.

The infected app for me was a game called "Choices." I recently downloaded a bunch of games so I deleted them

Thanks for info. My infected app was night filter. Hope its uninstall removes Beita plugin.

I found SwifKey to NOT have that stupid plugin and works well at gesture typing. Cheers,

I uninstalled Amazon Shopping, and all is right in my world now! That's the app that brought Beita Plugin to my phone .

How did you remove the Amazon shopping app? On my LG I can only disable it ….
