Apple to Android

Can I connect my Android phone to my Apple Computer?

When I convert an Apple Pages document to Microsoft Word is there a way to xfer it to my cell phone?

Just looking at various ways to use both systems.

Yes, you can. I use my android devices with Apple computers.

Since Android uses Microsoft's MTP protocol for file transfers you need an app on the Mac to support this. Google's Android File Transfer app is the default option. The latest version (1.0.11, November 2017) is working fine on my late 2018 MBP running Mojave. Prior to that it went a long time without update and was getting flaky with newer Macs. There are third party apps as well but I've not used them.

Any wireless transfer method should work fine, of course. You can always email a document to yourself, use some cloud service (Dropbox, Google Drive, whatever), or use a wireless transfer app such as AirDroid. Many options.

It's irritating that nothing but an Apple device can read Pages files, but that I'm afraid is Apple's way (I have a few colleagues who uses Keynote, but most Mac users I know use Office or LibreOffice instead for that reason).

Thank you for that very useful information. All my computer is Apple after moving from Microsoft some time ago. I recently picked up an Android phone and was looking into transferring some files. Your response will really help me. Have great day and a Healthy and Happy New Year.
