loonycgb2

Android Enthusiast
T-MOBILE USERS DO NOT INSTALL THIS VERSION

This is a MetroPCS B21 stock rom.
In the guide it is based that you flashed twrp already and have formated userdata to decrypt storage.

DM-Verity zip is for users who want a fully stock non rooted os, for the ones who want root please use magisk 16.7 (anything higher will bootloop due to incompatibility)

How to install:
1. Format in twrp (Dalvik/Cache, System, Data)
2. Flash Stock ZIP
3. Flash dm-verity zip or magisk
4. Done!

This rom includes a fully intact stock rom with oem gapps and MetroPCS apps.

Did you flash the dm verity zip or did it show an error?

It gets stuck at zte logo due to force encrypt. I will compile a new kernel to remove that encryption rule and reupload stock zip.

For now just flash the dm verity zip and if it doesnt work then flash magisk

My first try it didnt show the error but still got stuck at the zte screen. So i booted in twrp and tried again it showed error. Also i get confused at step one. When you say format in twrp..do you mean wipe everything in the advance wipe tab or the format data tab?

I will try again with the dm-verify-zip method if it fails ill try the magisk method. If all fails then ill just wait for the re-upload..

Yes advanced wipe -> system, dalvik cache, cache, data.. pretty much everything except microsd and internal storage.

Also many have been having issues with that zip. The previous zip i had worked fine.

By chance which twrp are you using?

okay thanks for clearing that up for me and yeah well ill try again and if it fails ill wait for u to re-upload.

Im using TWRP 3.2.1-0

5) Wipe normal, no avanzado.

For english speakers he went thru the same process and ended up with the same error for the dm verity zip.

So he instead flashed GameTheory's kernel which has the forceencrypt flag removed. This allowed him to use stock without root.

So did he get this working ?

He didn't flash my kernel. He restored a stock backup that's on XDA from another user.

@imKadel Yes he got it working. Just right click on this page and select Translate and google will translate to english or whatever language you speak.

Havent had a chance to post any updated stuff lately.
This is the stock rom based from MetroPCS B21, it will work perfectly fine on the t-mobile brand of the z981 also.
How to install:
1. Format in twrp (userdata, system, dalvik/cache)
2. Flash stock ZIP
3. Flash no dm-verity zip
4. Ignore twrp warning and boot to system
This rom includes a fully intact stock rom with oem gapps and metro/t-mobile apps.
No dm-verity zip is used to remove the need for encryption allowing the rom to boot.
ROOT IS NOT INCLUDED! THIS STOCK ROM IS ORIGINAL NON ROOT!
If you need to root, flash magisk v16.7. Anything above will cause a bootloop

[QUOTE = "krlosBlind, post: 7837563, member: 2082605"] I had the same problem of you It was stuck in the ZTE Logo. Until I try this:

1) Wipe Dalvik / Cache, System, data, internal storage, minus MicroSd where I had the information to flash.
2)Flash Stock Zip.
3)Flash Dm-Verity zip.
4) System Reboot (it will stay in the logo of ZTE now return to restart in recovery)
5) Normal Wipe, not advanced.
6) Restore the backup published by Game Theory: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77717333&postcount=50
7) Reboot System and wait 5min the first boot and ready already in the stock rom without root.

I hope you help them I worked perfectly these steps, try and leave the resusltados greetings [/ QUOTE]
Can verify this worked like a charm. After fighting with this thing for literally 18 hours straight! No Cap, 18 hours! From sun up to sun up again research, flashing, formatting, doing it all, these combined methods got my phone to turn back on! Sheesh. Thank you!!

The end problem is that when flashing the dm-verity zip sometimes it does not take.

So you have to keep flashing it till it completes, this will leave you with a working stock rom.

Its my fault for never changing the kernel so you can skip this extra process.

Thank you for all your efforts still. Really appreciated. My only issue now is the Play Store or none other Google Services are working for me. Any ideas or fixes you know of?
