Getting the Last Security Patch of August 2018 for 6.0?

Probably not, I guess the manufacturer has stopped supporting and updating your particular device. A supported custom ROM could be possibility, all depending on whatever it is phone or tablet you've got there.

I believe this was a premise of Project Treble, that secuirty and other critical updates are pushed directly by Google, and are not depending on manufacturers. But this is only for 8.x Oreo AFAIK.
 
Would using a Security App like CM Security Master be a replacement for security patches? I know it doesn't cover Security Patches but it covers all the Android Security needs though.
 
I wouldn't trust the thieves at Cheetah Mobile in Beijing as far as I could spit out a rat!...well certainly not for my security.

Cheetah Mobile has been found to be engaging in a click fraud scheme on Google Play Store. This week, more than eight apps have been removed from Google Play Store, with seven being from Cheetah Mobile.
