Voice mail notification as well as Messenger notification

Got a new Pixel 3. When someone leaves a voice message I get a notification on the phone. Then about 1-2 minutes later I get another notification about the same voice but this time it is from Messenger. More often than not, I've already listened to and deleted the voice message before Messenger tells me about it. I recently have had the moto X4 and the Nexus 5 and neither did this. Does anyone know a way to shut off the messenger notification for voice mails. I still need to keep it notifying me if a text message comes in.

That sounds like it may be a carrier "feature". Who's your cell service provider?

I think you'll need to separate your SMS and Messenger accounts.. you may have accidentally hit the 'send all messaging thru here' as you had done the setup..?? You can also go into settings and completely wipe the app's data, reSetup without combining SMS function

There may be an option in the Fi app/website to disable those notifications but I'm not sure. I can check on my wife's Fi account tonight.

My wife reminded me that I helped her disable voicemail notifications in the phone app a few weeks ago because we couldn't find a way to turn off the SMS notifications.

Look for the "Send feedback" option in the Fi app to let them know that you don't appreciate the redundant notifications and would love an option to disable them!
