I did, several months back. Let's just say it was an unpleasant experience, jumping through all sorts of hoops, having to wade through endless pages of publications they're wanting you to subscribe to, etc. What I expected to take a minute or two, turned into more like 15 or 20. Not worth the effort...unless, of course, you're picked as the winner. *shrug*Anybody here sign in for that contest?
I'm curious and may join.
No, actually, it's legitimate. Publishers Clearing House has been around for decades, and heavily advertises on TV. Their actual business is selling subscriptions to various publications, hence its name.Is this some sort of MLM or pyramid scheme?
Well there was a man, who played the banjo down in AlabamaIn the small print anyone can enter but only the over 95's who have been on life support for a minimum of three weeks are eligible for the prize.
Well, high-five to you for surviving the experience apparently unscathed!I signed up.
Though your odds, well, frankly, suck, someone will win, so why not you?!I doubt I'll win.
That is strange, I just test downloaded and it automatically does that image, but rotate to the left, it works. Huh, I wonder what they meant by "Cash prizes"Remember that I entered a few months ago? Today's mail brought a "Final Winner Selection List" document that "MUST be returned for entry validation." They kindly included a postage-paid return envelope. It'll go out in tomorrow's mail. But that's not why I'm posting.
They included a "Sweepstakes Facts" sheet; I thought I'd post its odds of winning:

So what do you think? Will I win the $5,000/week prize?
PS I have no idea why the image has rotated left. I took it in portrait, it displays on my phone in portrait, but it's getting rotated when uploaded here--but not when I tested it in a tweet. *confused*
The odds of becoming as famous as Stephen Baldwin have likely changed--that article is almost 10 years old! I'd love to see them do a current version. Lindsay Lohan was in that one, and I'm pretty sure she wouldn't be now.1:6.2 Billion chance of winning . Hmmm
Odds of getting struck by lightning? 1:3,000
Odds of getting bitten by a shark? 1:11.2 Million
Odds of finding a four leaf clover? 1:10,000
Odds of becoming as famous as Steven Baldwin? 1:572,596 (Yes, it's a statistic)
That's it? Oh, shoot, yes! I can easily knock those out between now and the 25th of next month. All you have to do now is enter 6,199,999,999 more times!
Hey, luna, any thoughts on the rotated image?
Well, it makes it hard to read.![]()
Try again, my friend:My guess is that the image is saving it's dimensions in landscape orientation. Probably a default in the camera app. If you look at it online (do you backup to Google's Photos?) I'd bet it's rotated as well.[/spoiler]
