True, but you have to marvel at the spectacular convergence of conditions, which make life on Earth possible. Are we unique in the entire Universe? Probably not. But we're pretty damn rare.
I would personally love to live a Star Trek type 'federation of planets' Universe, with diverse species all living (fairly) harmoniously. Having said that, the Human race needs to evolve beyond what it currently is, because we're on a track to destroying ourselves, and that would be a real shame considering the possible uniqueness of our species.
yeah.. i see it... greed will be our down fall.
this one theory why there is so little evidence of intelligent live outside...
every civilization.. develops to a certain level of tech.. and power.. and hunger.. and curiosity .. and resource limits.
converge to eventually self - destroy itself.
there is a barrier ... a wall... that stops most (99%)
have humans reached it? and have we past it?
i say NO... we are about to hit that wall.
in the next 100 yrs.
will we emerge as the new masters of this galaxy?
or disappear.. and earth will reboot with another owner in 10000 yrs?
