I keep getting popup and email notifications for calendar events I have created even though I did not set them. How do I turn that off? Operating in Marshmallow on an S5.
Thanks for the quick reply. I don't seem to have that option in my calendar settings. There is no place to specify a specific calendar, events, or a default notification. I am using the 'native' calendar app in my phone.I would suspect you have your calendar defaults set to include both a reminder and email notice. Open your calendar app then go to settings and tap on the specific calendar you use to create your events. (A lot of times it's just called 'events') There you can set a default notification to 'none'.![]()
Thanks. I just tried that. I will see what happens after I enter another event. It usually takes a few hours to show the notifications in the event screen. Hopefully this will not block notifications that I actually set myself.Hi, try going to 'Settings' scroll down to 'Application Manager', touch the three dots at the top right of the screen and select 'Show system apps', scroll down to 'Google Calendar Sync' select it and touch 'Notifications' then turn them off. What @philayl suggested will turn off all notifications for the app. You won't get any, even if you set them yourself.Thanks. I just tried that. I will see what happens after I enter another event. Thanks! I guess I'm back where I started. What @philayl suggested will turn off all notifications for the app. You won't get any, even if you set them yourself.
Thanks, I'll try that! When you get a notification that you think is one you didn't set, pull down the notification bar and long-press the notification. It will tell you which app sent it.
