Pie lock screen notifications

Hi

Partner just got pie downloaded and all seems fine, apart from the locksreen notifications it's just a very very small app icon and no preview
Have looked through most settings but can't see anything, ideas?

These days it's probably ambient display or always on display (whatever Samsung call it).

But if it's like my Pixel it's pretty useless: the text appears for a few seconds, but after that you just get an uninformative icon. Frankly I turned it off completely, on the grounds that the notification LED is more use (it can flash different colours for different apps, and is easier to see). But the manufacturers seem to have decided that this is the future and we should not be offered a choice in future.

Actually, just go to settings>lockscreen>notifications>tap on the side opposite the toggle>notification style>change it from icons only to brief or detailed.
