Help SD card Question

Does anyone know if the V40 can handle a high speed (A2) micro SD card? I'm getting the phone on Monday and I want to be ready. I called Verizon support once and LG support twice and they had no idea what I was talking about until I explained it. And they still didn't know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@PitCarver
Thanks for the reply. I just ordered the same card. Now I won't worry.
I'm glad there is someone else in this forum. I was wondering if there was anyone here.

I was initially looking at the G7, when my trusty old S5 gave up the ghost. Saw the V40 and decided to go with the newer phone. Had mine for going on a month and still finding different things that it'll do.

I wasn't sure which phone I wanted to replace my aging HTC 10. I was checking the specs when I saw an add from Verizon for 50% off the V40. It still took me a few hours to decide and when I went to order it, the sale was over. They were charging full price but giving away a G7 for free. I told them I didn't want the free phone, I wanted 50% off the V40. They gave it to me. It's supposed to arrive Monday and I can't wait.

The wife was talking to a customer rep about changes to our account. We, too, had missed the sale (which I think was only a 1 day event). She asked them why long time customers couldn't get the same deal as new ones. Told them I was talking about taking my business elsewhere. The CR, said hold on, talked to a supervisor, and got us the deal.

I'm trying to figure out why companies only offer deals to families of 4. My kids are gone now and it's just us 2 now. I think spectrum has the right idea.

I've been with AT&T forever. Better the devil you know? ;)

Edit: just checked and the v35 is half price. :D

Glad you gave a deal. I've been with Verizon forever, so I understand.
Edit: Glad you got a deal! oops I also read the article you linked. Really informative. Still glad I got the V40. I couldn't pass up the deal.

I'm a solo customer. Whenever I've had a problem with support, I've hung up, waited a minute to calm down and called again. You always get a different person and you might get a nice one that will help. It has worked with Verizon and Optimum. Good luck

Lol...
My first device, from Verizon, was a BEEPER. We weren't allowed to have cellphones where I worked.
My wife checked in with one of the Motorola MicroTac flip phones.
Those were the days.

Think you'll enjoy the V40.

I remember those days too. I carried a beeper and had to find a pay phone to call in. Then it was a beeper and a cell phone. What a dream not to have to search for a pay phone to use. Thank goodness those days are long gone. I've certainly been spoiled. UPS just changed my delivery date back to today! I keep looking out my window for the truck. While writing this my HTC 10 rebooted for no reason. I really need the V40.

The V40 is considerably better than the V35 if nothing than the camera system. The V40 is the best phone LG has offered in years. I've had a V20 for close to 3 years. After LG jettisoned all of the features that made them stand apart from the herd after the V20 I went with the Samsung Note 8, then Note 9. It wasn't until the V40 series that I paid LG any attention and then when I received a Godfather offer (an offer I could no refuse) of a new in the box V40 for 400 Ben Franklins, I could not resist. It is a fun, functional, feature-packed device that made the money well spent.

I was an LG fan back in the flip phone days. My first smart phone was an HTC Thunderbolt. I've had HTC phones since then. My current and last HTC phone is my HTC 10. I loved the phone but HTC took a wrong turn and never came back. Trying to replace the 10's features that I liked was difficult. The camera wasn't the deciding factor. It was the earphone socket and the audio system. Then, when I got the same offer you did, that was the deciding factor. But UPS is driving me crazy. Verizon shipped it 2 day so I would get it on Saturday. UPS kept changing the delivery from Saturday to Monday, back to Saturday and finally to Monday again. The company isn't what it used to be.

Gratefully, I had no issues with delivery...it was delivered to my wife's work. UPS as well as the post office has a bad habit of just dropping packages over our fence. Our dogs seem to take exception to that and want to eat anything that's left.

Well it will work out as long as Amazon doesn't screw up their delivery. I ordered a case and a new SD card from them. Hopefully they will show up today. Then, when my phone is delivered, I can put in the card. Then transfer everything from my HTC to the new V40. I've transferred info from HTC to HTC over 7 times without too many problems. If anyone knows of any pitfalls to avoid, I'd be grateful to hear them.

I used the LG transfer app to transfer from my temp to the LG. First time I've ever used one like that. Did well.
I do keep a file on Google Drive that contains backup files (contacts, legacy apps, contact photos and alternative app icon photos, and my epub library). Handy for emergency backups.

Thanks, I'll take a look.

LG Mobile Switch (Sender) in the play store would need to be installed on your HTC.
I installed it on the Motororola that I have as a temporary phone opened the app and let it do its job. Used the wireless option and it only took about 15 minutes.

Thanks for the information. I'll definitely try it.

That's exactly what I felt like.

I finally got it and it is a beautiful shade of blue. I'm charging it now and will start the setup process in a little while. This always worries me. But since I'm not turning in my old phone, I have a backup.

For some reason the switching numbers between phones gives me cause to worry too. Don't really know why either because I've got one as a spare also.

The boss lady had the choice of blue and black and figured that color didn't matter because I was gonna keep a case on it, so it's black.

Have fun with the set-up. I'm still finding little tweaks in the settings on mine.
