What case did you get?

Wireless charger?

I'm getting the only 2 credit card/ID card holder cases (Not the wallet style).

I have the Spigen Tough Armor. But I don't have the phone yet. I'm getting the Moraccan Blue V40. I'd like to find a clear soft case with a hard surround like a Spigen case I have for my HTC 10. Great protection and you still can see the beauty of the phone.

My wife has some form of soft case on her Pixel2. so she can see it,.
Mine is the "Basic Black" . I'm one of the kind of folks that doesn't care what it looks like, as long as it works. (As long as it doesn't have an apple on the back)
smily im not sure about that.png

Though we might not agree on the case, we definitely agree on the phone. I've been PC since the 70's and Android since my first smartphone. No apples in my house!

I have now tried 2 different cases;
1. Spigen Tough Armor
2. Ringke Fusion X
I like both for different reasons.
Spigen:
Excellent case. Two pieces to install; a thick, inner TPU layer that completely covers the phone(except the screen) and a polycarbonate shell to reinforce the TPU. The openings are accurately placed over the charging and earphone sockets. The buttons are covered by thick TPU that make it difficult to push them to use. The volume and power buttons are level with the polycarbonate shell and smooth. It is difficult to feel them so I took a very sharp knife and placed shallow grooves in the TPU so I knew when I was in the right spot. It also has a kickstand that works when the phone is horizontal. This case definitely provides protection and is usable, but I didn't like the buttons and I couldn't see the color of my phone. (Moroccan Blue)
Ringke:
This is a one piece case.(sort of). It has a clear polycarbonate back that is surrounded by thick TPU bumper and TPU ridges that surround the camera and finger sensor openings. It does have another piece. (That's where the sort of comes in) There are reviews of clear back cases that get a rainbow effect on the case backs. Ringke includes a thin piece of clear plastic that you apply to the back of your phone. It is supposed to prevent the rainbow effect. It is lightly adhesive and can trap dust like a screen saver. I installed it and trapped a little dust like I always do. I don't see a rainbow but I didn't see one before I installed it. I like the look and the buttons more on this case. The buttons are much easier to find tactilely than on the Spigen and the phone's color is visible. The information on the case says there are two small holes which you can place a wrist strap through. The holes are there but no strap. I haven't checked if one is available. That would be another plus.

After using both cases, I'm using the Ringke now. I just like the look and buttons better. I take a lot of screenshots so I need to feel the buttons easily.

I wouldn't trust the wrist straps that are out there. One came with my LoveMei case. Decided to try my hand at a Paracord strap.
Definitely better than the ones I see on eBay.

I thought about getting another UAG case I liked it on my note 3

Thought about another ringke - but they don't have quite as tall a lip as others - and I feel I need that.

Better question - what screen protectors are you going with. I think I want a quality tempered glass item. But I've heard good things about ghost shield

I normally use glass protectors that I install. With the Ringke case I purchased came a coupon for Ringke's "Dustless" protector. It cost $5 so I tried it. It is dustless if you install it correctly. I would advise viewing the video because it is different than other protector's I've tried. It is great for the price, but I still prefer glass. Unfortunately, I've only found 2 that don't use edge adhesive to stick to the screen; one is $35 & the other is $50. The $50 one has 15 mostly good reviews the $35 one has none. They both have installation alignment gizmos. I'm trying to decide which one, once the Ringke gives out.

based on how I merfed up my V20 I want a strong but smooth screen cover. I might well turn my current case into a folio case with some DIY.

There isn't a folio case I really like made right now - but it would be easy to make your own.

This is a followup on screen protectors.
1. The Ringke dustless was a smudge attractor. No fingerprints, just smudges that was difficult to clean. No good!
2. The $35 Gobukee glass protector looked great. It had an alignment tool and went on easily. But it had more bubbles than I have ever seen and I couldn't get rid of them. The version for our phone had no reviews to go by. In hindsight, I read reviews from other phones that had the same issue. I returned it.
3. Now I have an $8.00 Abcalet Glass Pro. It is the only glass protector that curves around the edges to match the curve of the screen. It has over 900 five star reviews but it is driving me crazy. It has a black rim around the edge that conceals the adhesive. The "p", "l" and "delete" keys are difficult to use with or without a case. The sensitivity is gone. It could be that my alignment is off, but I've adjusted it a few times and still off. I will keep adjusting for a little while because I cannot believe that 900 reviews are wrong and I am right.
UPDATE: I went back and examined the reviews. All the bad reviews were for our phone. Of the good reviews I read, all but one were for other phones. So I guess I was right after all.

Some additional information on accessories. I checked "Wish" shopping app and it has lots of cases and screen protectors. I've purchased items from Wish before, including cases and screen protectors for my previous phone, an HTC 10 and they fit. Just a thought.
