Recent apps getting closed

Since doing the most recent update I can only keep four apps open. The phone is automatically closing the oldest as I open a new one. Prior to the update I could have as many as I wanted open in the background. Is there a way to change how many it will allow to be open or to disable the automatic closing of apps?

What is your phone modle?

By default ,you can have as many apps ,running in the background, until the clear all has been pressed.

That is the way it was prior to the recent update, now it only allows four.
