I noticed in the other time, I checked out face book in my gmail, it gave me Linux O.S., instead of android, isn't that right? Or is it what the background compture is on my droid?

Android does run on the Linux kernel, and is a "Linux OS" really.

If your phone is rooted, you can change the kernel and the OS
