For the past week or so, my phone downloads the following file type: en-US-v306-f28-???.zip. So far there have been 53 of these files and they have filled up my phone, Each time I have had to delete these files. How do I stop this?

The file type, "en-US-v306-f28-???.zip", looks to be an off line language pack like those used by Google Assistant/Search. Go to the Google app in your app drawer and open it > More (3 dots) > Settings > Language and region. You can remove, reboot and then re-add the English - US language pack. See if that helps. You could also check your phone settings for Language and input to see if there is something similar there.
