Can I update Android 6 on Alcatel?

Hi, I have an Alcatel A466BG with Android 6. I would like to update to Android 7 or newest. Settings Update says it's the newest at 6. Is there anyway to update an Alcatel? I tried Rooting software about a year ago and it didn't work so I gave up. I'm not sure if it will work with my phone. Is it possible? Please reply. Thanks

Unfortunately manufacturers aren't obligated to update any phone past the version which it came with.
