Unwanted background icons

I recently noticed 4 faint Red icons that are seemingly burned into my screen, however I doubt they are burned in since I do not recognize them and haven't seen them before. They are red and include a microphone, a search icon, a mute unmute icon and one I cannot recognize at the bottom. I took a screenshot from a white screen since it is easier to see with that. Any ideas where these are from? I have searched all applications that I could think of that might be responsible to no avail. Thank you in advance!

They are not visible on your screenshot.

This rather suggests that they are screen burn-in, or more accurately "burn out", since what happens with amoled displays is that heavily used pixels lose their brightness and so you get a negative image of what has commonly been displayed. Blue loses brightness fastest, so the images appearing reddish on a white background could fit that explanation too. Since a screenshot is actually a capture of the data sent to the display driver rather than the output of the screen damage to the screen doesn't show on screenshots, which is why the images not appearing on the screenshot suggests that the display panel is the problem.

I guess you can see them when you view the screenshot on your phone, but that may be because you are viewing it on a screen that has a problem. If you zoom or rotate the image do they scale or rotate with it? If they don't that would prove that the problem is your screen.

Hmmm thank you for the reply... they are quite faint so you'd need to enlarge the screenshot to see them. Others can see them via text etc. So not sure why you can't see.

I doubt it's a screen burn since I have never seen them before and therefore the icons wouldn't have had time to burn in.

I have enlarged the screenshot - it's the first thing I did. And whacked the brightness up full to be sure. Maybe there was some compression when it was uploaded, but there is definitely nothing but the 4 arrows you added when I view this.

You are right, it makes sense that I am seeing it because it is only on my phone. Interesting that taking a screenshot does not capture it.

Well just taking a screen-shot won't capture screen burn marks, because it's an actual physical issue and not something drawn by the phone's software. You need to take a photo of the screen with another camera.

You say you haven't used it much and don't recognise the icons? Was the phone ex-demo, refurbished, or used when you bought it?
