Recover data off Tab s2 with broken screen?

Hi folks, I have a Tab s2 that screen is broken, and I need to get a few pics and movie clips off of it. I can't just use the usb cable, as it wants me to click allow on screen, and I cant see it. Can anyone rec. a good safe program to download to do it? I don't want to just download something, and end up with a virus ,etc. Thanks!

Probably not. First, most of the "file recovery" apps that you see all over the place are there to try and recovery accidentally deleted files and require a working device. Second, they are scams, if you ask me.

I take it that you never backed up the tab or sync'ed it to a Google account? You might have it set that way without realizing it. Check your account online and you might be pleasantly surprised.

If that doesn't work, then can you tell me if you know if the digitizer works (the part of the screen that registers touches?) and it's just the LCD layer that's bad? or is the whole thing dead?

It might be easiest to simply repair the screen yourself.

Thanks for the reply.....not backed up, just my phone sadly. Son dropped it, and screen is cracked and black. Not sure if touch still works as cant tell?

I've read that the S2 tab is MHL compatible so you should be able to get an adapter to display the screen on anything that will accept an HDMI signal (like a TV). If that works then maybe you'll get lucky and the digitizer still works.
