I am wanting to install the PC version of Android and have a question about what version I should try?

I have an older desktop from around 2001. It's a Dell Dimension 5200, Pentium 4 ( williamette ) 2.0GHz with 768mb of Rambus DRAM.
Has a Nvidia GeForce 3 video card and a SoundBlaster Live!

My question is can I run a newer version like Lollipop or M on this hardware? Would I need to try and find and older version and is my Mobo and video/ sound going to be supported? I tried one image of Android i386 6.0 r1 and it wouldn't boot, but perhaps it was the wrong one.

Yeah that is some old hardware. There is no definitive answer to your question. The only way to find out is to follow my guide and burn an iso to USB. From there you can boot a live session, without installing, to test compatibility. Have a look at my wares.

I would suggest you start with my PhoenixOS v1.1.3 SE iso.:)

I have downloaded Phoenix OS from the link you provided, but I'm having trouble getting the image to disk.
I'm wanting to use a DVD instead of a flash drive because my mobo is too old for USB booting. Is there a certain program I should use?
When I download the file it is a zip, then when I unzip it has the phoenix is .ISO along with the install guide and other files. I tried burn the . ISO to a DVD with Nero in Windows 10 ( different computer ) and disk would not boot.

Did you actually burn a bootable DVD-ROM from the ISO, or did you just copy the ISO file to DVD-R? Also check that your PC is configured to boot from a DVD, provided it's not too old to support that either, but I think it would have to be really old, like 15 years or more.

Yes, I burned a bootable from the ISO .
Might've been the program I was using ( Nero ) . I tried to boot it on my PC and my dad's ( the one I actually made the DVD on ) and it wouldn't boot on either.

His is a newer PC with UEFI BIOS so I thought that might've been the problem but it wouldn't work on mine either. Mine is pretty old. It's a 2002 Dell with the old Williamette/Northwood P4 and Rambus RAM

Do you know about editing init.sh of Android x86? If, yes can you help me solving problem?
