Screen is amber colored

Help. Please. I was reading something the other night and thought I was turning on the night setting, but it changed the screen to this orangy tanny color that has stayed there. No, my blue light thing isn't on, and I can't find where I did this. I have a Note 9, and don't see anything in the phones settings that would do this. All I want is my normal screen back. Please help, it's driving me nuts!

Hi, thank you so much for responding! I found out that the problem was caused by a setting in Google Books. When you have a book open and press on the page, an Aa comes up on the top right. Hit that Aa and you can choose one of three looks for your page OR "night light". That pesky "night light" setting was on and it put this disturbing yellowy brownish color over the screen but it didn't turn off after I closed Google books. My question now is why hasn't Google addressed this?
 
What model of phone? Since I've not heard of this before (though I've never installed Google Books myself) I assume this is rare. So it could be a glitch with your phone only, or a problem caused by something the manufacturer has done with the operating system rather than a problem with the app itself.

Rather than speculate on why Google haven't fixed it why not report it to them?
 
I can't duplicate the same problem after trying it a couple of times myself. That's an anecdotal claim so if others chime in that would help determine if this an issue or not. There's a good chance there's just some glitch with the app on your phone. Try going into the Settings >> Apps menu, open the Google Play Books app entry, tap on the Force Stop button, then find the Clear Cache button and tap on that. Now start the Play Books app up again and see if you can duplicate that screen coloring problem. Hopefully not but if it's still happening, send the developers a message detailing your problem. There's a 'Help & feedback' link in the three horizontal lines icon in the upper left of the app itself or you can send them an email -- include the phone model, Android version, app version, and the problem itself. It's Play Store page indicates the email is:
googleplay-support@google.com
When no one notifies developers of problems, consumers shouldn't be surprised that those problems don't get addressed. That said, good on you sleuthing out what's going on.
