A big cross on home screen

Please help.
This stupid cross is on my home screen and don't know where it came from or how to remove it. Please help!

I've never seen anything like that x on a homescreen before. Is it always there @Arrow7019? Which phone do you use and where is the homescreen picture from?

That's looking like a plus sign to add a shortcut to a blank screen.
Swipe left or right.
Part of your launcher is my guess

That could even be part of the wallpaper aesthetically (creates an old film camera viewfinder look). I assume it remains if you change wallpaper?

I'd certainly check the launcher settings if it only appears on the home screen. Can you interact with it? If you put an icon there does that cover it (i.e. does it behave like part of the wallpaper or something above it?)?

It's always there, I hold down the screen and it goes away temporarily. But upon starting my phone, it's back on the screen. Its an Alcatel 7

I swipe and swipe but it only goes away for a bit. The screen stays the same. It doesn't take me anywhere

Full press on a blank/clear space on your screen then when the "wallpaper" choice shows up try a different picture.
