Google assistant

With music, I've found that it only works with certain players like Google (big surprise). It doesn't work with Amazon. When I said, 'Hey Google, Play Ina- gadda- devida' it tried to play it in You Tube. I have no idea why. When I asked Google to play it in Google music, it couldn't because I don't subscribe to it. It defaulted to play Iron Butterfly music station in Google music instead. What I'm getting at is Google Assistant can be very finicky with how you ask it to do things and with music what players you subscribe to and if you include the player. My only suggestion is to try different wording with different music players and see what happens. Good luck.

Hey man im sorry to bother you again but I have another question, when I ask the assistant to ask 'Music' to play (in this example) Royal blood it brings me to this screen (pic) how can I set it just to play songs by them or just play an album without me pick up the phone. Thank you

This happens if I say the artist if I say a specific song it will only play that song on repeat.. I can't just ask it to play the artist? I use these exact commands to ask for the song and it still doesn't work

According to the instructions, it should work. But it's Google and just because it should work doesn't mean it will. What may help is another way to do what you want. There are no promises, but it is probably worth a try. It doesn't work for me because I don't subscribe to Google Music. It will only play a music "Stations", but it might work for you. I would create a Playlist with 3 songs. Create it in the music app you use. Then ask "Hey Google" to "play my playlist called ??? and see if it works. Try different ways of asking. If it works, you can add all the songs you listen to into a playlist. I have some with over 70 songs. I can't promise it will work because I don't use Google Music, but it's worth a try.

Dude sorry one more thing... When I set Google play music as default player (because the built in LG music app isn't an option😑😑😑🤦🏻‍♂️) and I ask the assistant to play a specific song it'll get the artist right but not the song I chose 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ any idea how this could happen? And how to fix it?

Sorry I didn't answer some of your posts, but I wasn't sent the email that tells me there are new posts. Also, in your posts, there are always a few things that don't show properly on my phone. This one was excessive. This is what I see:

I'm not sure how to answer this. But anyway, you may be trying to do too much with "hey google". Like I've said before it is very erratic and certainly not dependable. It definitely isn't worth fretting over. If what you want to do, doesn't work after trying a few times, I would give up. What Google claims it will do and what it is actually capable of doing are two different things.

Ok wow I don't know why that happened basically it was a screen shot of what happens when I ask it to play an artist it will just show everything under the artists name but won't play anything I can only ask for specific songs to be played not artists this is across all music apps I'll try the playlist idea you suggested

So I've learned that Google assistant works differently from device to device..also it changes functionality when you downgrade to a different version..i did that and my Google assistant never worked better in fact now I'm able to use the phone while it's locked it does answer me questions but when there is a security functionality issue it will give me the option to unlock the phone and then it goes ahead with the procedure..

so I do recommend you to downgrade your version of Google it might work for you..not every times that latest versions of the apps is the best sometimes is the worse..actually most of the times is the worse..at least for me

Just this week I had a big argument with the owner of Tasker he wanted me to get the latest version and I said no..I don't want the latest version I wanna keep the one I currently have which is a very older version and he kept asking me why and why and why and I ended up saing "is none of your business what I do with it I paid you for it and that's all you need to know"..so you see the latest version always takes you to the convenience of the developer or the owner of it and the owner just goes to what is convenient for him which is his money..and tight you with so many restrictions and ads and crap..and buy this it buy that..and majority if the times the apps aren't as functional any more..

I agree with you for the most part. I had a similar issue with a file manager. The newer version removed some functions that were free and charged to get them back. The only problem is eventually, most older versions become incompatible with newer Android versions and you have to update or find a new app. I finally dumped the app that I had been using for years and found a new app that works fine.
