Android 10

Still holding out.
My biggest plus with 10 was the inclusion of the system wide dark theme, but there are still limits.
As it is, now, I have the dark, where I like it and keep the light where needed. Your experience with notifications proves my point.

Just a note for people that want the dark theme on your phone, but don't want it on Google Play.
Google Play, under its settings, had a theme choice of Dark or Light. I prefer the light and I had forgotten thst the Google store had a choice.

I have a question about the 'Recently Used Button'. When I tap it, I get the apps that I've used in pages. At the bottom are 5 icons that start specific apps. Does anyone know if you can change those icons to open other apps. Or how those apps were chosen. I can't find anything on them.
Thanks in advance,

I'd like to know that, as well. Looks like it could be recently used apps or most frequently used apps.

My five are:
Nova: Aqua Email: Chrome: My Calendar App: FaceBook
The only strange one is Nova, but it could be if we stretch things. However, there are 2 games I play more than using FaceBook & Aqua Mail. And shouldn't they change after using one app frequently? No argument, just thinking out loud. What do you think?

I really don't know how they are chosen either.

Here's mine...
1 - Nova
2 - Chrome
3 - NoLED
4 - Sesame
5 - MailDroid

There has to be some logic, to this, but I can't see it.

I'm just curious has LG improved their slow OS update release schedule? I haven't used them since V30 and back then it seemed like LG was always behind.

Not as far as I'm concerned. It was one of the last companies to update our phone to Android 10. That just happened this past week. In hindsight, I wish they hadn't forced it on us. At least for me, the problems it created far outweigh the benefits.

Really now? You know I have always had a love/hate relationship with LG. I absolutely love their hardware!!!! I mean their cameras, DAC, and build quality, but I hate their Software experience from the UI to the updates.

I've been ignoring this, but today I noticed that the MailDroid icon had been replaced by the F-Stop gallery app.
Mine has changed too. Now it's:
1. Nova
2. Aqua Mail
3. Amazon (was Chrome)
4. Chrome (was Pimlical, my calendar)
5. Facebook
I don't why my calendar disappeared. I use it constantly. And Nova, I rarely touch the settings. Very strange.

Today, F-Stop gallery has been replaced by Gmail.

This could be a useful feature, but Nova, NóLED, and sesame are all set. There's absolutely no reason, on a normal day to access them.

It would make sense if the most used apps were put there. But that's not it. I use my calendar constantly and if use was the determining factor, it would be #1 or #2. What really gripes me is that I can't find the reason why, anywhere. :maddroid:

Thing is that it seems that if you use a third party launcher that's why it's #1. Thing is it doesn't take you to settings, it just goes to your home screen.
I can understand Chrome being on mine as I use chrome shortcuts instead of downloaded apps for a lot of things.
NoLED is set. I know it's running, but there's no reason for the shortcut.
Sesame is an add-on to Nova.
It Just goes to it's search page.
Don't know why any email app shows up on mine. Most days I'm on email just long enough to delete what came in.
We may get an answer, one of these days.

LG is still slow but we got Android 10 ahead of their slow schedule. They said 3rd quarter but we got it earlier than expected.

Also the V40 and several older phones is getting the Velvet UI, which has completely surprised me.

Wow that's cool is the velvet UI an improvement over what we have now? And it will come with Android 10?

I just opened my Recently Used App List and now there has been a complete change of all of the 5 apps on the bottom. No more Nova. Now I have
1. Settings (Phone)
2. Gallery
3. Quick Memo app that I almost never use
4.Alarms from the clock app
5. Calendar app (came with phone and I have never used it)

I am completely baffled!
