Class Action Suit for 2.0

Well just got an email back from Samsung and it took them 4 days to respond so i doubt it was a bot... heres what it reads

Dear Brent,

Thank you for your inquiry. There will not be an upgrade to Android 2.X for the SGH-T939.

Your continued interest in Samsung products is appreciated.

Sincerely,

Technical Support

Please hold onto that original email.

Thanks!

This is the email I received from Samsung:

Dear Paul,

Thank you for your inquiry. The update for your device from 1.5 to 1.6 is not released and we don't have a future release date for the 2.0 if you have additional questions about the update contact T-mobile. We appreciate your continued support of Samsung products.

Sincerely,

Technical Support

+1 for singed and left nasty comments on twitter for Samsung and T-Mobile. Well, nasty but well spoken and not bad language used.

The only other redeeming thing Samsung could do at this point, besides refunding us the money that was spent on our phones, or providing us with a new device that isn't completely abandoned... Is release the technical schematics and complete firmware code for the phone, so that our developers could have a prayer of bringing us this upgrade themselves. Go BH_MAN, you and the other talented people here have made it possible for this phone to run 1.6 and at least make it a somewhat usable device.

I signed the petition (once)... but I have 4 Behold II's on a Family Plan.. (ouch!) that I bought believing I would get a 2.x upgrade.

The Behold II is actually a nice piece of hardware, too bad Samsung is screwing us over in the software department.

Samsung, if you are reading this, you can restore the faith of the community by doing one of two things:

1. Officially announce (w/an ETA) 2.x on the Behold II.

- or -

2. Release the FULL source code and proprietary bits to the Behold II so that the community can support this hardware by porting 2.x to it.

Sent another email to samsung stating that the FTC will be contacted if I do not hear anything back by Friday (5/28). I think I will call tomorrow also, cuz who knows where that email will end up. I attached the petition as well :-P We'll see what they say. Now with 100 people, say an average of $300 per person. That's $30,000 dollars. That is a pretty big number.

Yeah but also you have to remember they GAVE away about 1000 phones in December.

Given all the internal problems with this phone, the fact that they gave away so many Behold 2's works in our favor. It is possible that they may have known early on that there were issues with this phone. The second fact that they abandoned the phone within six months of launch further speaks to this position.

You don't need donate. Just sign with name and comment and submit it. Then when the window for donations pops up just close it. After that if you look at the petition you will see your "signature." TRUST ME NO DONATION REQUIRED.
