I'm getting this error while building android

dex_preopt_config.mk: error cannot assign to readonly variable PRODUCT_DEX_PREPOT_BOOT_FLAGS

So you are trying to build a Samsung ROM? Because "dex" to me sounds like Samsung's desktop mode for some of their devices.

Hah, yes! I'd have recognised "odex", but "dex" threw me off...
