Issues Sending Contacts From Tablet to Phone

I'm trying to send my contacts on my Tab a to my new android phone: Moto g Pire(XT2163DL)
Before my phone arrived I was able to transfer my contacts to my tablet (.vcf).
I was able to pair the two devices but it always fails to send,

Any ideas?

Are you using Google contacts?

Use the Contacts app on your Tab A to export your contacts list to a file, then send that vcf file to yourself as an email attachment. Download that file to your Moto phone and the import it into the Contacts app. If you save that email with the vcf attachment this gives you at least a cursory back up of your Contacts list.

A better option might be to set up syncing on both your Tab A and your Moto G so your Contacts list is kept current and up-to-date on both devices, along with an always updated contacts list in your online Google account. Backups are important, don't ever just rely upon a mobile device as the only place to store files.

Open your email app on your tablet.
Send that vcf file to your own email or to the email address on your phone, from your tablet.
Now, open your email on your phone.
Take the vcf file and open it on your phone.
Done.

You do need to actually export your Contacts list to an actual file, then using your email app on your tablet send an email message to yourself with that file you just created as an attachment. The resulting action is an email message has been created with your Contacts list. Now using the email app on your new phone to open that email message, and download that saved attachment file. Then you can import it into your new phone's Contacts app.

But again, a better option would be to just enable syncing for Contacts in both your tablet and your phone. You don't need to export or import anything, your Contacts list will be the same on both devices and your online Google account, and it's going to done automatically and on a regular basis.
If for whatever reason you don't want to have your Contacts stored online, just keep in mind you're taking a big risk losing your Contacts if something happens to your phone (i.e. it fails, or gets stolen, or you lose it). It's important for you to manually do regular backups when you opt to not have this done automatically for you.

Put both devices on the same wi-fi network.

Use NitroShare on both to send and receive the file.

I have no idea where the vcf file is.
You make it sound so simple but there are so many variables. Send, import, share, file, Bluetooth....
I can go on and on.
Even when I share with Bluetooth, and everything seems to be ok there still aren't any contacts listed on my moto.

You have to import the file to the contacts app.

It is not like you can just send the file and contacts will magically appear onto the device.

You figured out how to export them to a vcf file, correct?

Now you must do the reverse.

I found an app called Vcf File Contact Import and it worked fine.
I knew the .vcf file was somewhere on the phone but wasn't sure where.
