I live in Monterey, CA. I've watched Otters do many things in the wild, this is the first time I've seen one play basketball. One of the interesting things I witnessed was an Otter using a glass soda bottle to break open abalone by filling the bottle with water, then using it the bottle as a hammer to bust open the abalone shell resting on the rock on it's belly. It kept refilling the bottle and striking the shell until at last ..... "chow time". Then it swept the shell away disappeared and resurfaced with another abalone, the stone and bottle to to it all over again.
