List of must have Apps! (please add)

i have that too. it is because i have the facebook app i downloaded and also it shows the built in facebook on the phone (where you can log in through social networks in settings)
 
I use DiviClock, a free clock widget. It looks nice, and tapping it gives you access to the alarm clock and calendar. (I helped the developer with the alarm clock bit. NBd). Give it a go, y'all. Matt
 
How about the WOW Battle.net Authenticator? Came out early this week, and is now a necessity as far as I'm concerned!
 
What do you think the best diary or journal program is? There isn't much of a selection, but I tried MyDay and I think that it at least has potential. Note Everything is kind of like it but I don't think it has a calendar.

Quickpedia (My favorite Wikipedia app)
WiFinder (Simple no-frills WiFi manager)
craigsphone (Good Craigslist app, very functional)
NetCounter (Keep track of your 3G/Wifi usage. A must)
Phonalyzr (Moniter your airtime minutes)
dg QuickCut (Do-it-yourself shortcuts. Good to have)
SDMount (Rescan/reupload your SD card in one click)
Places Directory (Simple, effective)
Dolphin Browser (Beats the stock browser in HTC phones, anyway)
Handcent SMS (VERY customizable text-messaging program)
Volume Control (Instant access to all your volume controls)
Proximity Sensor (No more accidental cheek hang-ups!)
Battery Widget (Obvious reasons)
i Music (Pirated music for your listening pleasure. ARRR!)
Startup Auditor (Decide what apps start when you boot your phone)
vibrate mode by force (Eliminate silent mode and/or ringer. Handy app)
Spare Parts (Just get it)


Snaptell and Barcode Scanner are 2 other essentials, but they seem to have disappeared from the market. I lost them when I rooted my phone, and now can't get them back. :( If anybody can hook me up with the latest versions of either of them, I would really appreciate it.

AndFTP: good FTP client
Astrid: To-Do/Task Manager
ASTRO: file manager/explorer
Facebook: duh
Handcent: the BEST SMS app, has popups, TONS of options
Home Switcher: experiment with home apps
Last.fm: alternative to Pandora, better interface than Pandora
My Verizon: duh
AudioManager: Great volume control app, new version just this week has great interface redesign. really good widget comes with it.
Movies: movie database app, check showtimes, watch trailers, etc.
Not Call Log: Make the phone return to home after hang up, no more pocket dials
Pandora: duh
PdaNet: tether PC
Rhapsody: not available in market yet, i'm running beta. if you have a rhapsody-to-go subscription, it's awesome.
Spare Parts: See what's draining your battery
Speed Test: test your 3G or wifi speed, 3G is my house is super slow :(
SportsTap: All around great sports app, scores, schedules, news, etc.
SwiFTP: FTP server on your phone!!
SystemPanel: General System info, kill an app if it's giving Android issues
Timeriffic: change settings based on a time, best free app that does this
Torrent-fu: Torrent manager and search (not a torrent client), can log into webui of uTorrent on your PC from your phone.
TV-Guide: only really useful if you're traveling to know what's on when you're in a hotel or something.
Weatherbug: the BEST weather app out there
Wordpress: edit and manage your wordpress blog
Yellowbook: I like this lookup app better than the others available
Zedge: REALLY good wallpaper/ringtone download app, very well designed and free

Games
Bonsai Blast: Great game, like Zuma
Radiant: old school shooter, best played with trackball
Totemo: great puzzle game with great visuals and sound
Buka: another great game
 
For me, the "must haves" (besides a file manager and a folder organizer) are :

Traffic Cams (to deal with unpredictable NYC traffic)
Music Junk (great song availability, simple interface, quick dl's, small size)
Opera Mini (as a second browser, when speed over functionality is needed)

I have many others but these are my main must haves.
 
I just recently found this app posted in another forum. I haven't seen it posted in the "Eris" forum yet and figured I'd share it in this thread because it is my new "Must Have" app.

I think its MUCH easier browsing apps this way than through the market.

I tried this a while ago but wasn't impressed. They have made improvements and it is now quite useful! Screenshots, reviews, install apps directly to the phone, recommended/related apps... You can even make lists of apps that you don't want to use yet but want to keep an eye on for later...

This is how Google should have made the market in the first place!!

I tried downloading the Aquarium Live wall paper but couldn't get it to work. :(

After the OTA, I did download Google Goggles...pretty sweet!! And Nav is tremendous!
