50% Signal Issue on more than Eris!

I have had my Eris for a while and have had the 50% signal issue since the upgrade. But, my wife got the LG ally this past week and we have found the same issue on it. It runs 2.1 and is pretty fast, just seems to have some battery issues, which is strange since its battery is bigger than the Eris.

But, to get to my point, I am wondering if 2.1 has issues with CDMA radios and some logic or math for the radio calculations. Also the Ally constantly shows radio reception from -100 to -90, with 4 bars, so something is lying since -100 should be 0 reception.
 
What exactly is this "Fiddy Percent" issue? I have the Eris and 2.1 OTA but I must not have run into this problem as I have no clue what it is.


Second. Lighten the hell up. I actually thought the Incredible thing was kinda funny. Can't believe how uptight people can be over a friggin' phone.

You can see if you have it: Settings > About Phone > Battery > Battery Use > Cell Standby - if there's an item listed called Time without Signal - 50% then you're a winner!!

Usually, it's accompanied by the Up Time = Awake Time problem. And rapid battery drain.

To fix, put the phone in Airplane mode, put it to sleep for about a minute, wake it up, take it out of Airplane mode. This will need to be done every time you restart the phone.

That Time without Signal percent will slowly drop down.

Sometimes, this is only a visual bug and will not affect battery usage. Mostly, it's really a problem, though.

Really? I was making a joke. When i had the eris i had to deal with the 50% thing all the time. Now having a new phone I have no DESIRE to go back. Lol..

Seriously, im just messing around. dont get upset. :P
 
And lot of threads in this section helped me get acquainted with android, since the eris was my first geniusphone. No disrespect to otd or the other guy with the avatar of the old cowboy.
