I had to google this just to be sure.... music, just make a music folder on the SD.

I'd imagine just make a video folder and dump there.

I'm still dumping all my mp3's so I haven't tried any of this yet, maybe some other power users can chime in!

Android only nativeliy supports mp4 playback, although there are apps that claim to play avi and flash formats.

Android os has a video player installed but there are 3rd party players in the market. Try searching "video" maybe.

Ok, so to use the stock video player we convert the videos to mpeg4 with h.264 then we copy the files onto the SD card to a folder called ______ next we jump on our droid and ___________. Now the video starts playing.

Just put. It anywhere you want on the sdcard, make a folder called vids. Navigate with file manager and open

You will need to install one! You can find many on the market search file manager. You do know how to use the market?

Alright. Yes I know how to use the market no I didn't know there wasn't a file manager, no I didn't know it didn't matter where the videos where. I'm just trying to figure out my new awesome toy like everyone else and had no idea where to go on this one.

I dumped my mp3's to a folder on the sd card called MUSIC.

I launched the player and it instantly found ALL my music!

I'd imagine the same with video. I have a few videos I encoded when I had my iphone, might be time to start playing with this :)

And droid supports a 32G card if you didn't know already!!!

So has any figured out what video files actually work on this thing, and how to get them into said format?

Cause....I've download a million apps to my PC trying everything, and this damned thing won't play em.

So...using Gspot, here's the details of my .mp4 file.

Can anyone find a reason this video wouldn't be playing?
Audio is perfect, video won't play at all.

It might be your bitrate...the 2030kbs...though that doesn't seem too high and demanding. I just know the bitrate was the difference in playable and non-playable video on the PSP. I have no idea what the bitrate range the Droid wants though. Might try dropping it in increments and seeing if it eventually works.

Be nice if Motorola included some documentation on this.

The gallery plays videos that are formatted correctly. But it seems choppy and stalls a bit when playing my vids. Gonna have to play with the transcoding settings some more, it seems.

You'd think if that we're the case, I'd see SOME kind of video. Choppy, or otherwise. I mean, I'm just seeing a black screen, with perfect audio.
