newest Swype Beta?

I got an email from the folks at Swype about their new updated Beta. Anyone have this yet? I think mine functions pretty well now so I don't want to change it. If this is even better though then that would be sweet! I love Swype
 
Just installed it and it seems to work fine. I was glad to get it. After the OTA 2.1 was released, I couln't get my official swype beta to work and had to go back to one of the leaks. I never liked it because in the leak when you long-press a key to bring up the shift character, like long pressing the F to get a 5, the popup "5" was in a really small font. Now that I have a new beta release, it is better.

when you install the new beta, make sure to completely uninstall your old swype and swype installer or it will give you strange permission errors.
 
I just got mine and installed it. I need to tweak the speed, it seems a bit slower.
 
I signed up for Swype Beta, but have never received any e-mails from Swype and have been forced to use leaks. What is the process for leaking the new Beta so that the rest of us can use it? Is it as simple as doing a back-up with Astro and posting the .apk?

FYI - This is very much against forum rules. I wouldn't do this if I were you. :)

But isn't this the same thing that was done with the Swype version we're all using and is posted all over these forums?
Not trying to break any rules. Just want to understand this.

Nobody was sure when the beta first leaked out, and it wasn't until Swype themselves made a statement on their support site here that the situation was clarified. The statement ends with this paragraph:

Our lawyer has asked us to remind everyone that Swype does not explicitly or implicitly condone the unauthorized copying and distribution of the Swype software and to inform you that the Swype software is proprietary to Swype, Inc., is the copyrighted work of Swype, Inc., and Swype, Inc. has and always will reserve all of its rights.
At least one other web forum has been contacted by Skype about this, so we don't want them adding AF to their 'hit list'.

hope someone can assist me

downloaded new version swype from today's email

have "unknown sources" checked in applications

when "tap" on installer download of apk file get the following message
"opening files is not supported in this version"

when phone updated from 1.5 to 2.1 I was able to re-install older swype beta when it was lost in the update ( i had saved the original email/link from swype)

any way I can bypass the "opening files" issue??
so want swype back

couldn't get it to work for me with astro
downloaded apps installer and able to get installed from there

along the way had the following messages which of course I ignored and carried on

-the swype beta is not available for this phone's screen size
-there is a problem parsing the package

is this new swype version 7625?

now i see there is an annoying tone with swype which i didn't have in earlier version
a tone with each letter touched
the swype method didn't work initially but i turned phone off/on and OK now

need to figure out how to turn tone OFF

i knew I should have stayed with older version for a few days until all the kinks were worked out
when i saw "The current version expires in the next couple days" I just jumped in

^^ Try:

Menu > Settings > Language & keyboard > Swype (Settings) > Disable audio feedback. You may want to disable vibration as well.

I get "Swype Beta Installation Failed" " The Swipe Beta is not avaible for your screen size" Anyone know how to get past this?
 
Any way to know how long this beta trial version is?

Also, how can I save my current version of Swype in case this one expires?
That way I can go back to my current version.
 
Anyone who needs the download link could probably get the email forwarded to them by someone.. this should not be a violation of forum rules as long as no one posts a direct link.
 
Forwarding the email won't help. You need a swype beta username and password.

Anyway - Installed the newest beta and it was totally unusable until turning off vibration and audio. Otherwise it lagged and lagged.

(v2.3 leak)

Use astro to backup the old swpye you use

Why? Just post the link for download. Don't like farty mcpoop pants scare you. The other version of swype is direct linked and no one has said a thing. why would it be a problem now? Also, the admins probably would use it too since some have the eris.
