I got 4G signal today in Modesto, CA ! Although I cannot connect either.. I called Sprint Store, said they got an e-mail that it's here now and it was working today, although I still can't get any data, only get the 4G and about 2 bars... enough to get me excited... heheheh
I ran into a 4G area going down I25. It was very weak (In the screenshots you can see that by the time I get the shots the signal is already pretty much nothing). I managed to run a speed test, but since the signal was so weak it stalled slightly (hence high ping). It seemed like it could have been much faster if it didn't have to stop 3 times while running the test.
Hopefully not too long before we get it all up and running
Central Expressway commute corridor
Had signal between (going North on Central) about 200m before Bowers/Great America Parkway to a little after Lawrence Expressway but before Wolfe.
1.8~2.5Mbps down, always hitting 1Mbps cap up
I just sent a comment to the writer to find out if she knows the exact date and if testing has started. She seems to know someone she is getting her information from.
Cisco campus in San Jose around N. First St and Tasman has a dev network. The DL speeds are horrible though, hardly better than 3G. I'm pulling ~1.6 Mbps down when I visit.
I check this morning & I was getting 4G in Rosslyn. I ran speedtest & was getting 2257kbit/330bit. I lost the 4G connection in my building & with 3G I can get 2052kbit & 212kbit.....so my questions are:
I live and work in Silver Spring and I don't get 4G at all. I work on 16th street in SS, literally could walk across the DC line, and I live in the Aspen Hill area of SS... nothing in either location or anywhere in between.
I was on the beltway driving into VA the other day, and I briefly picked up a 4g signal right around the American Legion bridge area... but so far, that's it.
I got some 4G coverage on the CSUEB campus. I was just turning it on to see if anything would happen, and sure enough, it picked it up. I was so excited, lol. My friends with an iPhone 3GS are so jealous.
I'm here at the McDonalds just south of Auraria on colfax and I have 2 bars of 4G. Also playing with the Hotspot and its working just fine for me - my wife and I are each on a laptop connected to our Evos and doing skype from our laptops (and fring on the phones). The video quality's not any better, but the latency is pretty good.
so im curious to know, everybody who is picking up 4g connections, does your data still work? or does it not go through at all unless you turn it off? i can pick up a 4g signal here in stockton, 1-2 bars but it stops data from going through so i have to turn it off and switch back to 3g
