This morning, Samsung model SGH-T959 cleared the FCC with 850/1900 GSM/GPRS/EDGE and AWS/1900 WCDMA/HSPA frequency bands. What does this mean? Well, it's interesting actually. It looks like this particular phone (as opposed to the GT-I9000 which cleared FCC for AT&T specifically) should work on both T-Mobile as well as AT&T's 3G bands, not to mention all of the Canadian carriers. If I'm right, then perhaps Samsung truly is both brilliant and bold, killing the GSM bird with a single stone. It would certainly make launching a phone in 110 countries, simultaneously, much easier.
