Getting rid of droid guy on phone?

OK, RD2D is old, how do I get rid of the stupid driod icon on my phone. Really 70's, really stupid.

Can I choose my own little icon, and not the stupid driod?

Need to know, thanks

I think you're talking about the default contact picture. If you want it to show something else, just assign a picture to that contact.

I never see the Droid, because all my contacts have their Facebook profile pictures assigned automatically :D
 
Cool, I am not 20 something so I don't do facebook. But you can make the sucker show the facebook picture when they call. WOW!

So, the question is how do I get rid of RD2D on my screen?

He/She told you. Assign a picture, any picture to the contact. Then you will see that picture instead.

Thanks, and what contact would that be?

The phone answers all contacts with the same RD2D icon. How, pray tell, do I "assign" a picture to all my contacts?

Would love instructions, not guesses.

Yeah, you can. The Facebook profile is only an example. You can set ANY image as the contact image. Let's read next time instead of making a snarky remark.

You can do this by going into contacts, tap a name and hold, edit, then assign a picture should be at the top.
 
For one, that is not R2D2..... don't diss Star Wars >_>

But anyways
1. Go to the phone app, and go to contacts.
2. Click on the person you want to change.
3. Click the settings/menu button on the phone
4. Press edit contact
5. Right above the name of the person, there is a little icon which has the gray picture frame. Click that and select the image.

Your done. Congrats, and no dissing Artoo!

I repeat myself, I DON'T do Facebook, I have many calls, how, if you know, can I change the icon from RD2D to say a picture of "The One"?
 
Pray? I do not understand.

But anyways, read my last post. It had nothing to do with Facebook, and it is the only way to do it. Either take a picture with the phone of the person or whatever, or save a picture from your computer to the phones SD card via usb transfer.

Again, its not Artoo. And I hope by "The One" you mean Neo

I do NOT want to go into all my contacts and put in a picture, etc. I want to by default get rid of the little bastard, RD2D, and maybe put a picture of Santa Claus or anything but that stupid icon.

Is that clear?

If you're looking for a quick way to change all your contacts, I believe you're out of luck. So depending on how many contacts you have, this may take a while.

Is it worth the trouble? You see the icon for a few seconds, answer the phone and put it to your ear.

I don't think you can be told what should be done to fix your situation any clearer then what has already been said. Please don't be rude.
 
So, let me get this straight. No one, so far, knows how to change the default RD2D icon. Everyone suggests I assign a picture to all my contacts or go to a site which has no help.

I understand, this is moto shit, which is not that good.

I guess you can NOT change the little bastard by default, or no one on the thread know how.

I'll give it more time, surely, don't call me surely, someone can figure this out.

Shirley, it sounds like the Droid isn't for you. Return it and get a WinMo phone or an iPhone. :-)

Don't mean to be rude, but I have stated the question four times, it appears that no one reads english. Don't get huffy, I just want the groups help, cause I don't have a clue how to get rid or RD2D!

It's got nothing to do with Motorola. It's an OS issue, so it's Google's realm here. I guess they just assumed anyone buying an "Android" phone wouldn't mind a little robot for a default icon.

I guess thats why they made Blackberrys. I have more than ten friends and I am not going to assign everyone's picture to my phone, get a life.

That snarky enough?
 
Not to be any ruder than you, but I have a hard time believing you have more than 5 friends with the way you act to people who are trying to help
