5 rows of icons! Why can't anyone else give us this simple choice?! It makes everything so much better.
 
What happens if this is installed on a phone with HTC sense? Does it disable it? Can this easily be removed if needed, or does it permanently overwrite sense? Do you need to root?
 
I agree, used in conjunction with FolderOrganiser for the custom dock, LauncherPro is definitely my favourite Home Replacement - plus 5 rows of apps - I had wondered why nobody had done that before - now I can put my Beautiful Smaller Home Widget I still have room for my full screen widgets.

You just set it as the default home app. It's a normal application that can be used like any other. No root required. Plus, I'm on the EVO right now.

Now rotate your phone to landscape position. That's the only thing I don't like about it. Otherwise LP is friggin sweet and hands down the fastest and best launcher. I just figured out that there's 3 different docks on it too (scroll your dock to the right)! Awesome! Also there's an option to lock the launcher in memory in the preferences (seems to work better than spare parts so far).

You can disable auto rotate in the preferences.
 
I tried it and then uninstalled about a minute later, mainly because HTC widgets don't work with it and you can't change the icons on the bottom dock.

actually you can change the icons/apps on the bottom dock....very easily.... just long press the one you want to change, you can use the default launcher pro icons, or the app icons or even custom icons

but yes if you are that into sense you can not use any HOME alternative because the sense widgets will not work with it

It was already pointed out how to change the bottom dock, but you can find nearly identical clones of every HTC widget on the Market. Any specific ones you are looking for?

Not sure about the clock because I don't use that one, but I know there are a ton of widgets that duplicate HTC clocks.

For the weather, Beautiful Widgets or Weather and Toggle Widgets.

Dolphin Browser HD also has a bookmark widget.
 
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as LauncherPro, is in fact, a copy of a superior launcher, or as I've recently taken to calling it, a proprietary, inferior launcher choice when compared to ADW Launcher. LauncherPro is not a truly revolutionary unto itself, but rather another marketing scheme by Federico Carnales to trick users into trying LauncherPro, a closed launcher as defined by Google & HTC.

Many Android users run a modified version of their launcher every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of the modified launcher which is widely used is often called "LauncherPro Beta," and many of its users are not aware that it is basically a clone of ADW Launcher, developed by AnderWeb.

There really is the Android GUI, and these people are using it, but it is just part of the system they use. Android

Android’s launcher is the Graphical User Interface; the program in the system that lets idiots click on things and think they know how a linux-based system works. The Graphical User Interface is an essential part of the operating system that was made for easily using the system, but useless by itself; it can only appear to have a function in the context of the user not knowing how their OS works. The LauncherPro GUI is normally used in combination with the Android operating system; the whole system is basically ADW Launcher + Android with shinier buttons added. All the so called "LauncherPro" users are really users of a modified ADW Launcher, the better, open-source, launcher choice.

PROTIP: You can't bitch about an app "stealing" from an open-source project. That's what open-source is all about, dingus.
 
if he stole ADW, which I love too, Then ADW is falling behind fast in the App drawer, Launcher Pro's has always been better, Ive been using both for months and the are progrssin differently so In no way is he stealing the program
 
Dude we know about adw and we don't like it. You aren't offering knew info here. I've tried it a bunch of times and simply prefer LP.
 
Used Launcher Pro for a few minutes and uninstalled, didn't seem to offer anything that ADW doesn't offer. I thought their 3D drawer was kind of cheesy - I like ADW's way of handling it more (although launcher can do the same).

The latest features of ADW have been great, such as Widget stretching. Makes having more columns/rows actually feasible.
