Galaxy S is now the "Vibrant" for t-mobile USA

And it looks as there is no front facing camera on this one either. this blows dogs for quarters man...
Bottom buttons are different & They also removed the "with Google" branding on the back. I hope this render is not the final t-mobile device. I was really looking forward to a FFC..

I honestly dont know. T-mobile have a super-fast HSPA+ network spreading across the U.S. right now, they would have done well to keep the front camera. The faster network I'm sure would have been able to handle video calling. The HTC EVO 4G & iPhone 4 both have one. not sure why t-mobile (USA) chose not to include one on whats suppose to be a flagship device. This might be the deal breaker for me..

Good point...probably not a network thing. Maybe it's to keep T-mobile/AT&T's cost down, and thereby increase their profits (since we know the savings wouldn't be passed on to the consumers)? Anyone have any idea about how much a front facing camera costs?
 
Also means the AT&T haters can suck it. Look who else has pre-loaded apps and no front facing camera. THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!

Hint: It's not that big of a deal. :p
 
Sprint's Samsung Galaxy S Pro with its included front-facing cam and rear camera flash is looking better and better every day. :D

Here's where things get really interesting. Apparently Verizon and AT&T will also offer a similar Galaxy S but Sprint's version will have a sliding QWERTY. Weird, right? There's more. The part about the Snapdragon appears to be wrong though. And this T-Mobile version does look like it has a camera flash on the top right if I'm not seeing things. I can't remember if the Captivate has a flash or not (don't think it does). So I guess we can assume Verizon's version really will have a flash than?

I don't see a flash anywhere in the "Vibrant" photos. Are you looking at different pics than me? The Captivate doesn't have one either...
 
Right. If the mock up is correct, then it's just as diff as the Captivate. Guess we'll have to wait for the official word from TMo...
 
not sure what value a front facing camera has, in reality

a)how many folks actually use webcams on their desktops?? Using one on a cellphone is a pain - think about it - having to hold the phone away from your face,and holding it steady, and then having to use speaker phone - which means not in public

that's only going to be good in your office or at home, which, if you aren't using a webcam on your desktop, you're not going to do on a cellphone in the same location

forgot where, but one of the european forums, posters, on this subject said they'd had video phone capability on their phones since 2003/4 and it hasn't proved popular

personally, it won't affect me

i am interested in confirming that it's using the hummingbird gpu though

It wasn't popular in the past because with the past speeds of towers it was basically useless. Plus...the past were all about feature phones rather than smart. For one I would love a phone capable with video skype seeing as my friends have that.
 
i think this is photoshopped.. they should keep the front camera, or at least add an LED flash.. but whatever, i'd still get it anyway..

but i do have a feeling that the front cam will be extracted, that's why they had to redesign this version.. i guess video calling would be too much of a trouble for them, but hey we could use it over wifi too, right? dang it!

i'd still get it anyway! LOL hehe
